Using technology in presentation generally is what you would think that catches the audience, but in Hans Rosling's presentation I believe what kept me interested was how he presented it. He was very up beat joking and very knowledgeable of his subject not once did he hesitate on his facts.
Granted how he created and used charts were amazing having a running graph is very impressive, but to also know how the graph will move makes the presentation explode.
Hans had many computers present so he was able to go from one statistic to the next without missing a beat his designs on his graphs were not all the same which help keep the boredom non existent.

Controversy on the new kindle 2
Does the Author Guild have a good case in saying the kindle2 violates audible copyrights, my guess is no if Amazon has audible and they are a huge part of the kindle2 I'm guessing they have rights to use audibles in the kindle2.
Now to talk about how amazing is the kindle2, its a great feature that could be used in schools for kids that have trouble reading. This device could act as an aide to students so they won't get behind on their reading assignments.
Maybe teachers could use it along with smart boards to read a class book so the whole class is on the same page when the story is done.
I know in my case I'm not big on reading so this device would be a great investment for me because I know as soon as I get into the book I won't want to stop it's the part of getting started.

Copyright and Fairtrade

two styles of recreation:
WOW this whole copyright act is highly confusing. My thoughts in the whole Shepard fairey and AP/ Garcia incident is Garcia took the picture he was working for Ap, does this mean Garcia had no say in the picture its all AP that doesn't seem right. I mean if it wasn't for Garcia AP would never of gotten that picture, yeah they would have had a picture of Oboma but not that same one. My idea of the fair trade was that as long as you change the look of the original copyright then you were safe, by far Fairey's picture has resemblance but doesn't look like the original.

The iphone craze
When one thinks of a phone they think the only use is to talk on it or text. Once again technology comes out with multi purpose items. Reminds me of the old infomercial it chops, it dices, and slices. The new iphone can make calls, you can text, record, download, and take amazing pictures, this little beauty will make you a photographer.
Realistically the only thing that makes the iphone handy is as soon as you take a picture you can upload it in a gallery, it doesn't mean you are a better photographer it only means that you have a camera on you at all times, meaning when ever there is a photo opp you always have your camera.

John Buckman of Magnatune
First off podcast is an amazing creation to be able to get your point across or your story out, and in Johns business to get your music out. John created a business so unknowned musicians can get their music out on the internet and heard without having to pay money up front to recording studios.
The recoeding business has gotten so competitive that musicians have to pay up to five thousand dollars to make a record which may never be sold in stores this being they loose money instead of making money.
Magnatune has giving musicians who normally wouldn't get a chance to have their music heard and eventually people in the business will recognize their talents.

Next 5000 days of the internet
The machine as Kevin Kelly calls the web, if his predictions are right as how fast it is growing we may all be in danger. He says that the web as of 2007 has the same amount of synapses and neurons as a human brain and the web in a sense works like a brain, the scary part is our brain doesnt double in power like the web does every two years.
well I had stated in a previous class on how movies and comic books should not be marked as science-fiction, but as the future, we have seen some of these movies or comic books become reality. I remember either reading a book or watching a movie when the world was taking over by machines, is this what our future holds for us is the web or are computers becoming powerful enough to program themselves?
If the web is doubling in power every two years at this rate kevin states that in thirty years this machine will grow to be as powerful as 6 billion human brains, so again are we looking at what the future may have instored for us what man created will it become our master.

Web 2.0
What does Web 2.0 means to me? To start until tonight every time I went online used my yahoo mail or went to Facebook to chat with friends and yes played on Farmville, plus I post pictures so my kids grandparents and their mom can see, I never knew I was computing in the clouds or considered using online as a storage place for my pics. Must say am happy that I have pictures online, a few weeks ago my laptop crashed and I lost everything on it, but lucky for me I was able to go to Facebook and retrieve my pictures from there plus some that I have that was sent to my email on yahoo.
Well to be honest my experience with the web 5 years ago was rather new to me as well as a painful time you see my ex wife met guys online and at that time venture more to soon leave me because of the convenience of getting to know someone before meeting, then eventually feeling comfortable enough to meet them. My feeling is web 2.0 can be an amazing thing, but at the same time be problem some.
The future with web 2.0, I see myself teaching with smart board or maybe even teaching a class room via computer from my home. I also see a new twist with online college course that we all may meet online through group video and chat and be taught on more of a personal way but not in a class room.
